Hi babes! Easter is fast approaching so I wanted to give a little sneak peek of Viv’s Easter basket! At 7-months old I’m all about the practical gifts this year… I figure she won’t remember so I’m focusing on the things she needs, like a new wearable blanket (more on that below!)
I can be sentimental when it comes to milestone moments and holidays, especially now that Viv is in our life, so I wanted to get her a quality basket that she’ll use year after year, one that can grow with her and will hold up over time through egg hunts and more! I went with this one from Pottery Barn Kids, I feel like they make beautiful, quality items, and I felt justified in the price since she’ll have it through childhood. I chose a classic white, but they have tons of great options. They also make adorable liners that can be personalized with names or initials, which I think is a nice touch and also functional if you have multiple kiddos. I skipped the liner and went with this wooden tag from Etsy, but I also had my eye on this liner from the same place. It comes in a white or natural material and can be personalized with several different font options. It’s a universal size/ shape so would also work with the PBK basket.
Here’s a list of things you can find in Viv’s basket this year. I think these are all great options for the little ones and are good suggestions if you’re looking for some sweet-free goodies! I have a feeling this will be the last year of a candy-less Easter…
- Books: I love to read to Viv and really enjoy adding to her book collection. I think books are one of the best gifts because they’re timeless and will be read over and over again. She’s our first babe so I also like to think that any future siblings will share these same books which feels really special. For Easter this year I chose the original Beatrix Potter version of “Peter Rabbit”. My mom (aka Grandma), also got her the updated version, so I’m including both. This is a book I remember reading as a child so I’m excited to pass down the story and help her create those same memories.
- Bamboo Plate: We’re attempting Baby Led Weaning with Viv, and right now we’re using the high chair tray as her “plate”, but I know as she gets bigger we’ll want to use an actual plate to mimic how my hubby and I eat our meals. I picked this one because I like the durability of the bamboo, and I love the bunny shape and how the ears serve as a great (contained) place for dips, dressings, yogurt, etc. The bottom also has a suction to help keep the food in place (mom win!)
- Onesie: Viv was born early and in the <1 percentile for height and weight so she has been behind in clothing sizes until recently… she has seriously flown through the 3-6 month size and is ready for 6-9 months. We’ve bought this line before and the material is super soft and doesn’t shrink in the wash. I wasn’t able to link up the exact print from the photo, but this is another print we have and love. If you have your heart set on the pretty lavender color for spring, I found ours in-store.
- Wearable Blanket: Viv has slept in a swaddle from this brand since she was born but she’s recently outgrown the 3-6 month size (which is the biggest they offer), so it’s time to graduate to the wearable blanket. I love the patterns and colors they offer, and since the swaddles worked so well for us, I didn’t want to mess with a good thing!
I hope this gives you girls some inspiration and last minute ideas for your kiddos’ baskets. I had a lot of fun putting it together and can’t wait to get some pictures of our little bunny on Sunday. Happy Easter to you and your families!
